HA! I did it!! I get a cookie now!! I've been cackling and giggling for a half hour now- my DB is getting frightened.
The letter fabric is a dark green metallic, and the background is a blue sky with clouds kinda thing. I've run into a problem, though- I've run out of the background, and it was a fat quarter so who knows where it came from. Any ideas?

you could always frame what you have with a border, and then change to a different background for the rest of the quilt....
Great job on your letters. I'd just use a fabric that is close in color.

wheee, fun. (and thanks for the "resistance is futile" - I was trying to come up with that the other day and the phrase escaped me) your letters look awesome. great opportunity to use a different fabric for the background. get something similar-ish, but not the same.
