Heidi - Here she is....

the Lady Elk. Somehow they look as if they have figured it out ... :-)

Thanks so much for this class, there are so many great ideas. I looked through my stash and thought oh, I could use this idea for this fabric and that for another...
My letters are better and I'll use them, but when I looked at the tutorial again, I found out mine are still too straight. I like the crooky look better .
So now I can concentrate on the hearts and letters. And I'm already pondering about the quilting. Tonya, I love your free-hand fans, maybe I'll try them or maybe I should quilt hearts on the lime background ?

I think hearts would be marvelous!

I love-love-love the rakish angle of their heads...and their cute lil tail.

Although I love lime green, I was initially worried that it would look too bright for your elks. How stupid of me! Lime green is the new black and gives your lovers the perfect background!

Boy, these turned out cute! How did you like working with solids? I'm thinking of using chartreuse as a background--can't get much "humbuggier" than that!

Thanks for all the friendly comments. No problem with the solids, maybe I'll quilt hearts in different colors on the lime.
This is really fun !!

oh I love her diamond shaped ears. very sweet. how about this for the quilting - a big heart on each elk body, outline quilt (aka in the ditch) the elks and then do unmarked fans over all the rest of the quilt (except maybe the other pieced items). That's what I did the quilting on Bad to the Bone and I love how that looks. oh, and Marry Christmas sounds much happier than Last Christmas.

keep piecing - you're doing great.

What a darling pair and that lime green is fantastic. Sure puts a spin on the traditional green.
